How to clean a pizza or ADD + Housework = rut roh !

Greetings y'all :
Folks oft times ask me why I always seem to do housework. The answer is simply complicated and yet uncomplicated. Oh look a butterfly .....

I can organize an organization or group (see my work with Transworld Music, Phi Theta Kappa, and other assorted gatherings) I can organize other folks but when comes to myself I ... Oh look a butterfly . Where was I ? OK so I get distracted. Sure I can give credit to undiagnosed ADD, or being a global learner, or butterflies but the bottom line is I am sssssslllllllooooowwwly learning to chunk my work not chuck my work.

It's amazing how I can chunk things for students and others. We call it the pizza method. Hmmm pizza I like mine with whole wheat crust and extra cheese. Anyway pizza is good eats. But to eat a pizza you don't shove the whole thing into your mouth you gotta cut it into slices, then take one slice. So now that you have that slice you don't shove the whole thing into your mouth you take one bite at a time. Ok I'll wait for you to go grab some pizza..... { whistling to self} ......

Welcome back and thanks for returning. So I still have to clean the dude den but it is overwhelming . If I use my global thinking I'll see that it looks a war zone in here and if I try to clean thoroughly and properly I'll quit and the situation will get worse and I'll get more exacerbated and frustrated and oh look a butterfly. Crickey them flutterbies is klllin' me .

OK OK time to focus. I realize I cant clean everything at once. So I'll use the pizza method. One part of one room at a time. Chaos is contagious but so is cleanliness. So folks please forgive my brevity but tis time time to brew a pot of java, cue up Shakira (she is my musical mood and movement motivator), choose a corner and come out cleaning!

Thanks for reading.

  1. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has to take the "chunking" approach. Last week, I took on the bookshelves next to the fireplace - also known as the hiding place for magazines and boxes/envelopes/albums of photographs. I managed to eliminate the magazines in 1-1/2 days. The photos took about the same amount of time - so far. I still need to finish organizing my daughter's childhood and find more appropriate containers than envelopes, open-top boxes, and falling-apart albums, but I just know I have such containers in a different part of the house. So, I may have to set aside that slice until I recover them. BTW, I was listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan while sorting my shelves...really love his work.

  2. Please take care of those priceless photos. That is a task which requires a sense of quiet mindfulness. As far as the housework , or life in general, it's easy to keep up than catch up. But it's easy to let it get out of hand for me . Sure I could blame the butterflies but the reality is its my own fault, only I can fix it
